Douglas C. Wood

Douglas Carlile Wood, 89, of Canton, GA passed away peacefully on Saturday, June1, 2024 just 21 days shy of his 90^th birthday. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Doug is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marjorie Sue Wood; their 3 daughters, Wendy (Joe) Johnson, Melody Davis, and Misty (Tracy) Rudy; his grandchildren, Bethany (John) Rodgers, Autumn (Cody) Hendrix, and Nick Rudy; his great grandson, Ethan Rodgers; and his nephew, Rick Parker.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bradley Frank Wood and Myrtle Sims Wood; his brothers, Donal (Glenda) and Del; and his sister, Beatrice (Roger) Parker.

Doug loved spending time watching his favorite westerns, anything with John Wayne or Clint Eastwood. Earlier in life he enjoyed spending time in nature, hunting deer and turkey, doing yard work and keeping the lawn and flowers immaculate. Doug was employed as a florist for 45 plus years and held a special talent for creating spectacular and gorgeous floral arrangements.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
